Happy Holidays everyone,

Before we send out the sign up list for 2025, we would like to discuss whether we want to keep the group going as is, with modifications, or not at all.

Background: 

When the group was formed, as an offshoot of several other groups,  it was to socialize with other golf aficionados.  We would generally have 20-25 players on any given Saturday and often had out-of-town outings with even larger groups in Salado, Bandera Tapatio Springs, etc... 

Although there are 164 individuals currently on our mailing list, participation has dwindled to 4-8 players a weekend. This seems to be partly due to members aging out of the group.  Some members have retired to other towns, some have joined private clubs and, some are no longer physically able to play.

Recent Feedback from players still in town:

We've asked a few members why they aren't participating.  Here are a few comments:

• I'm retired and it's now too expensive to play on the weekend
• It's too hot to play in the summer unless it's early in the day
• I don't want to get up that early on a Saturday and would like to play later
  
• The cheap courses we play are in bad condition
• We've joined a private course and don't really want to play other courses
• I don't want to play that often

So, what do we want to do with the group? Here are a few options:

1. Shut it down

2. Start playing every other weekend or once a month

3. Play Fall-Spring and take the Summer off

4. Change to playing weekdays instead of weekends.

5.  Go to a combination of some weekdays and some weekends
