1. According to the responses, my presentation will NOT be this
weekend. It will be next Sunday, July 10th, 2005 at 6:00 PM at my
place. During the week, around the beginning of it, I will post a
reminder, along with the address, an introduction to the presentation
itself, and a request to notify me of your attendance.
2. Since we don't want our fellows to miss any of the important
announcements related to their friends' presentations, I have decided
to publish a separate mailing list for "miscellaneous" stuff. All
e-mails propagated from THIS group ("Friendly Gatherings") will have
their topics starting with "UYCC" (although the title was removed
earlier, it still persists for some reason!). These emails will contain
announcements related to the gatherings ONLY. In order to reduce e-mail
traffic to/from this group, I will be applying more strict moderation
to the e-mails you post henceforward:
a) As has been the trend so far, your personal responses to
individuals' postings will NOT be posted publicly. Please try to
address these directly to the intended person. (Change the "To:" line
from "Friendly Gatherings" to their e-mail address. If you merely
"Reply" to a posting from the Group, it will be pending approval, then
I will have to read it, forward it, and then remove it. Save me the
trouble! Thanks.)
b) Material NOT related to your presentations must be sent to the OTHER
group that I will create from now on. This includes but is not limited
to: articles you wish for others to read, possibly links to funny stuff
on the net, and any announcements related to events OTHER than the
"UYCC" gatherings (e.g. parties, picnincs, general gatherings, etc.).
c) If you have comments RELATED to the gatherings, that you want to
share with all members, you still send it to the OTHER ("general
purpose") group. Then we can post the final decisions and conclusions
to the group at the end of the discussions. This way, those who cannot
or do not wish to partake in the conversations, will still be notified
of any potential changes or announcements. (An example of this would be
when you believe the time for a presentation must be changed, or when
you have a new idea for a presentation or something that you want to
put up for discussion, etc.)
I will create this group today, add you to it (you will be added
automatically), and set your e-mail setting to "E-Mail" for now. Then
you can change that later on, or have me do it for you.
