My Guru started with ... Sadha Bala Roopapi - Sankara's Subramanya Bujangam - describing Ganapathy as a child wanting to eat something always .. referring to God always when said the right thing i.e. - call Ganapathy has a big tummy - & He is happy (not for the common man who is otherwise) - Maththala Vayiranai - Arunagirinathar's song came with the poet referring to the Jackfruit when saying fruit which is full in hand .. My Guru added that childrne are always fond of eating & that is why in homes people leave a bit of pori (pounded rice) for the child to eat instead of putting a hand on anything ....
The above was a very brief intro abt 5min of the entire speech. Swamigal must have referred to Ganapathy as a child elephant ... for He recalled How Narayana theerthar calls Krishna as walking with a Gaja Gathi when as a child (Elephant style) but says that He does not have big ear wings like an elephant. Kalapa Gathim darshaya sri krishna thava karnam chalaya sri krishna ...
Narayana Theerthar taking Sannyas when He was in danger of pulled away by flash floods came up ... & again that similarity of Tulsidas & Pilvamangalar's tory wherein Narayana Theerthar's wife sees Him as having taken Sannyas (He was seen in those garbs mentally by her) & asks Him to go out of the Home to lead a life of Sannyas!!! Theerthar suffering from stomach pain gets blessed by Tirupathy Balaji .. goes behind a muysterious white pig which appears in the morning ... leading Him to Bhoopathirajapuram which is Varahoor now(after the Lord came as Varaha-Pig) ... Theerthar sings Tharangini here... Pandits arguing abt a Sannyasi singing - gettiung to hear Lord's flute & his Chalangai sounds .... & the full story
There was this Nammazhwar's devotion in which He approaches the Lord as His Husband ... Those changes in Nammazhwar were told very nicely .... and the reference to Bharathi came nicely ... Bharathiar prays to Sivasakthi for Her remembrance even when touched by fire whereas He gets the remembrance of Nandalal when touching fire (the songs of Bhyarathiar - thasayinai theechudinum && theekkul viralai vaiththaal ...).
Sukar even when 16 was bowed down by lovely maidens whereas Vyas even though aged arouses shyness in them came up ...
Bhishma who vowed to never think of women even in mind for His Father .. praying for a birth like Gopi came up... Bhishma's Sthuthi ....
Meera & Andaal's devotion apart .... they being women that was natural ... All of the above were men devoted to Krishna ...
Siva saying in Padma Purana "Aham na ichchami Kailasam .. Aham na ichchami Parvathim" - wanting to take birth as Gopi in Vrindavan came.
The likeness to Krishna & Siva - Aippasi month - Annabhisheka in southindia to siva - Annakoodothsvam in Vrindavan, Gokulashtam & Sivarathiri exactly 180days apart, Kamadahana day is Rasavihari's day .....
Siva kills Kama by burning Him whereas Krishna touches Him wearing a glove .. my Guru elaborated on the above references & added that Siva is in no need of anything He being an ascetic & Krishna is also not in need of anything for He has everything & Hence both the Lords ask for your mind only ....
Sun scorched the day while the evening was cool
considerable thanks to a better wind ..
These references came up .. to drive the point that Krishna's Rasaleela is not to be seen lightly & that great men of great integrity & even Gods pine for such a life with Krishna!
Ashtapadhi of Jayadevar which is an exposition of Bhagavatham's Rasapanachathyayi (five chapters of it) were sung - 6 nos in particular - My Guru described that while in devotion three stages are there - love for God, meeting Him - darshan, Separation which increases Love & then reunion ...
Swamigal also added Kanchi Mahaswami's incident wherein Mahaswami tells that He got a birth as Sannyasi only because He has read those five chapters of Bhagavatham in many births .... in an answer to one who has heard a speaker saying Bhagavatham without Rasaleela would have been better...
There were many songs very nicely sung .. liked the Kanhopatra's song ...
Swamigal referred to ...Sukar has not fixed any palasruthi for Gopika Geetham since Krishna Darshan is the fruit.
In a similar tone, Swamigal who is known always wish in the end of discourse for all to get happy family with health, wealth & good rains & devotion ... added in the end "those who listened to this Krishna's Rasaleela better be free of Lust & anger & such malices .." That is a Great blessing for all ... irrespective of when it happens ...
That sums up the Heart of Swamigal .. everyone to be Light .. free of burden ...
Music, singing, harmonium, vocal all fitted nicely for once throughout.
