to friday night ride
Hi,

Anyone fancy joining me on this ? It will not be a Friday night ride
but a 2 days ride, all the way around London on the out side of M25
(not on the M25) around 140 miles. Maybe more since this ride will be
a reccie and that I haven't done this ride before.

I still fancy the idea, too, but timing may be a problem....when were you thinking?

Yes. I might even try to re-read `Good Omens' beforehand :-).

The <URL:http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=399018> route is already
slightly longer than that and it doesn't stay exclusively outside the
M25. Towards the current end of the YACF thread, you suggest a 30
mile longer route further away from the M25. Given the transition
from GMT to BST on that weekend (losing one [clock] hour), I'd prefer
to stick to something closer to the 140 mile version[1], especially
when taking into account the trip to/ from the beginning/ end point.
But it's your ride and therefore your call.

It's also worth pointing out that sunset is before 18:30 GMT near
London at that time of year, so it would be worth considering stopping
the first day's cycling well before the half-way point and
correspondingly starting the second day earlier.

I intend to take my basic GPS receiver.

[1] But propose modifying it to take the B556 between ~51.698N,-0.325W
and ~51.692N,-0.178W.
