What backend does the `jlPlot` function use? Is it also gnuplot?

By default, no. You have to do it yourself for now.

For example you can issue a:

(1) -> jlUsing "Plots"
                                                                   Type: Void
(2) -> )ju gaston()

(2) ->

In the FriCAS REPL to use Gnuplot.
