GrowWELL Spring Garden Workshops - March 29!

Hello gardeners! 

The CPS Office of Student Health and Wellness is excited to announce a morning of gardening workshops to kick off the 2014 growing season! 

Come learn to GrowWELL from experts in urban horticulture and student gardening activities, including: Common Threads, Seven Generations Ahead, McCormic-Tribune YMCA, Kitchen[Community], and University of Illinois Extension! Workshops will be focused on:
  • basic gardening skills 
  • vermicompost
  • garden maintenance tips 
  • pollinators
  • curriculum connections for various age groups and subject areas, including: math, science, healthy eating, and school wellness. 
The workshops will be held on Saturday, March 29th at Shoesmith Elementary School from 9AM - 12:30PM, with a seed swap + "ask a master" Q&A to follow! 

Please register for the event on CPS University by searching for "GrowWELL" - CPDUs will be available! 

Things to bring:
  • seeds to swap
  • a garden lesson to share
  • questions to ask
  • ideas to share
  • hands to get dirty!
