1. Good Food Festival
Mark your calendars for March 19th - 21st! The Good Food Festival and Conference, hosted by FamilyFarmed, is almost here!

As a vital part of our regional food system, we would love to have you attend and share the opportunity the Good Food Festival represents with your networks. Teachers, school administrators, and parents involved in school gardens are all welcome! Seven Generations Ahead will be representing the growing Farm to School movement at the conference at two panels during the School Food Summit: Farm to School 101 and School Gardens. Come and learn from experts in the field and hear about the exciting work that is happening across the Midwest.

The Good Food Festival & Conference is the annual gathering place for all of us to learn, grow our local food businesses, and to connect with all the other like-minded individuals and organizations in our area.

2. Roadmap to School Gardening, Triton College
You are invited to participate in an Urban Agriculture Workshop Series funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The NSF has a long tradition of advancing community health, prosperity, and welfare amongst youth via the college and university platform. Recently Triton College received a grant to create a sustainable agriculture degree and pathways for high school students into this new and exciting field. Together, Triton and the NSF are working to engage the community through outreach and partnerships that will help our local students discover employment in this emerging green economy. We invite you to be a part of this exciting work!
Does your school want the opportunity to share engaging and fresh programming with your students? Join us for a workshop series that will define pathways to education through hands on experiences in the school garden. Our spring workshop series, Roadmap to School Gardening, will give you the tools you need to get started!
You must agree to attend two out of the three Saturday scheduled workshops and must be a teacher, administrator, or student leader - or be involved in food service or service learning projects. Register for Roadmap to School Gardening by calling Nathan Wright at (708) 779-4287.

3. Good Food Procurement Proposal
The Chicago Food Policy Action Council is circulating a letter of support for organizations to sign in order to show support for the Mayor making a statement on Good Food Procurement Policy in the city of Chicago. This proposed policy would support adding health, environmental, access and labor concerns into future request for bids in city procurement. Interested? Sign on here.
