Skill Set Required
- Experience with RedHat Linux servers in virtualized
environments and Amazon Cloud
- Experience with the Linux scripting languages
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining
services such as Bind, Apache, MySQL, nginx, etc.
- Support development team in deployment, sftp file
process etc.
- Strong grasp on configuration management tools
- Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, etc.
- Proficient with network tools such as iptables, Linux
IPVS, HAProxy, etc.
- Fluency in administering Apache, Tomcat, Jetty, HAProxy
and Nginx proxies and web-servers.
- Extensive experience administering Linux in a
virtualization environment.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as CloudStack,
VMware, AWS etc.
- Solid track record of deploying and automating
self-scaling redundant infrastructure.
- Experience working with and setup of automation using
tools such as Puppet and GIT/Stash.
- Familiarity with GlusterFS, NFS is plus.
- Set up back-up mechanisms for production environments
and test disaster recovery mechanisms.
- Proven ability to write clear, concise documentation.
- Cares greatly about automation and has little tolerance
for repetitive manual work.
- High level of problem solving and conflict resolution
capabilities.
- Has good communication skills and can interface with
remote teams in an effective manner.
- Ability to build and monitor services on production
servers.
- Excellent experience of Linux and Solaris Containers
and LDOM configurations
- Excellent understanding of creating and managing
Solaris Flash Archive (FLAR)
- Excellent experience with managing High Availability and
Disaster Recovery of SPRAC servers
- Excellent understanding of managing servers running
Oracle Database & Middleware services
- Expertise in Linux / Solaris expertise and AIX
exposure Expertise in Bash / Shell script
- Should have experience in managing VMware Linux
servers. .
- Expertise in Solaris 10 / 11 and RHEL versions
- Experience in handling file system issues / request on
Linux and Solaris. ( Candidate should have strong knowledge on Basics in
all the area in filesystems)
- Candidate should have experience leading the technical
team.
- Experience handling NFS issue and should have knowledge
of differences between multiple version in the NFS versions.
- Expertise in Multipath configurations
- Adding new SAN disk in OS and extending filesystems.
- Knowledge on Kerberos authentications in NFS
- Experience Network card teaming
- Responsible for administration, configuration,
troubleshooting and support of server environments running under various
Operating Systems including Solaris,Linux and AIX.
- Responsible for Unix Systems administration,
configuration, troubleshooting, upgrades and support in heterogeneous
server environments running under various Operating Systems including Red
Hat Linux, Oracle (Sun) Solaris.
- Responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining
IBM p Series, x86 and SPARC Servers including virtualized servers.
- Perform regular day-to-day Systems Administration
activities such as User Administrations, Disk Management, Package Install,
Patch Management, Storage Management, NFS Administration and disaster
recovery/fail-over exercises.
- Responsible for MPIO/DMP configuration for SAN disks
using native OS or third party EMC Power path, VERITAS MPIO drivers on
Linux and Solaris Servers.
- Identify, analyze, fix, and determine root cause,
follow-up and coordinate changes to resolve complex problems involving
hardware, software, networking and applications.
- Responsible for regular backup and restore operations
for AIX, Linux and Solaris Systems using Tivoli Storage Manager. Identify,
control, maintain and verify OS baseline configurations and manage server
resources and predict the need for additional capacity in advance.
- Install and configure various enterprise wide
infrastructure tools including automation tool, job scheduler,
authentication and authorization software, and backup tools on AIX, Linux
and Solaris Servers.
- Quickly restore service during system outages, provide
troubleshooting support to team members, perform proactive problem
prevention, and escalate technical details to technical lead and/or to
vendor support.
- Write technical documentation, operational procedures,
systems documentation and Incident and problem communications and
reporting.
- Assist with the monitoring performance analysis of
existing applications and ensuring that the system is consistent with
ongoing need.
- Install and support of the server operating system,
system management software and operating system utilities.
- Manage the operating system configuration including
initial server configuration, modifying configuration files, system
configuration documentation and access to system configuration files
- Manage operating system file systems including
creating, maintaining and deleting volumes and directory structures,
modifying file system sizes, verifying mount point availability, repairing
defective file systems and modifying file system permissions
- Manage Operating System Processes (e.g., continuously
running system subtasks, or daemons) including refreshing processes as
required, establishing startup sequences, maintaining system clock
synchronization and changing process priorities as appropriate
- Recommend operating system updates and configuration
modification
- Maintain standard and critical tools
- Implement corrective actions approved through Change
Management Process
- Manage System IDs
- Remediate findings from security health checks
- Adhere to standard security processes and procedures

- Support trusted third party security servers
authentication
- Create and modify system login/logon scripts
- Assign account, workgroup and print managers
- Installation of print drivers and definition and
management of print queues
- Administer file system directory distribution and
replication
- Perform installation, initial configuration and OS
level support of antivirus client software.
- Create and maintain disaster recovery scripts related
to the server infrastructure
- Take part in after-hours on-call rotation schedule and
weekend activities.
- Provide 24 x 7 support for Linux infrastructure
