Vision Statement

Last night we worked together to put the words to the vision expressed
by so many of you who have attended our open public forums. Here it
is:

Vision Statement

Fresh from Alaska is a cooperative food market that creates a
sustainable four season food system by increasing:

• Access and convenience to healthy, local foods
• Community awareness and education on the value of local foods
• Production and sale of more local foods


We hope you can get behind our vision and join one of our service
circles or even choose to become a circle coordinator.

I'm excited that it still looks as good to me today as it did last

Ditto Rachael.  I am still excited about it. 

I have been testing it out with "what about ..." what if ..." scenarios; like does that include the food for local animals, and adding those communities on that wish to join in their neighborhoods, etc.  Yes, it does.  I am excited.    It is general enough yet specific enough for who we are and what we stand for, yet still adds a lot of wiggle room for adaptability.  It still allows us to add things from out of state if we choose or non food items, because we have not stated anything that we are against those, only for local foods as our focus.

I Am Excited. 

Thanks All.  I think we did a great job working together the other night., And welcome new people to the interim board.  Look forward to see you all at the next meeting and getting even more done!
