Hello!

I'm a rather inexperienced Lilypond/Frescobaldi user. How do I hide rests? I'm using piano staff with two voices per staff. For example, in one bar I have a quarter note rest i both voices in the upper staff. There's no need for two rests. How do I hide one of them?

Best wishes!
/Peter

Hello,

this is not a Frescobaldi but a LilyPond question.

Writing "s" instead of "r" will produce "spacer rests" which do exactly
what you want.
Well, mostly. What is still lacking to be done automatically is moving
the remaining visible rest to a default center position.
For this you have to write \oneVoice before the visible rest and
\voiceXXX afterwards, when there are two rests again.

Hello Urs!

Many thanks! You’re right it’s a Lilypond question. I’ll give it a try.

Best wishes!
/Peter
