Hello everybody, looking forward to all of the helpful insight!

I recently installed Frescobaldi 4.0.6 (on Microsoft Windows); after the initial start-up, I changed some of the default settings in Preferences (text editor font). Later on, when I tried to launch the app again, it simply crashed. (Lilypond has stayed installed through this whole process.)

I tried the run the app through the Terminal to investigate and this is what appears:

%%
Invalid path data; path truncated.
qt.svg: Invalid path data; path truncated.
qt.svg: Invalid path data; path truncated.
render glyph failed err=62 face=0x1df4d10d4f0, glyph=80
%%

I've reinstalled a few times in both the default path suggestion and in other folders, but the app won't start regardless (the same message appears in the Terminal). I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions from y'all!

Hi Jesus,

It would probably be good for you to create a new issue here:

Look for the red "New" button in the top right corner.  Try issuing this command from a terminal and post the output:

    frescobaldi --version-debug

Also include what you've written here.  It probably won't help, but try installing the latest version:

If using these instructions https://github.com/frescobaldi/frescobaldi/blob/master/frescobaldi/userguide/backup.md you manage to find your frescobaldi.conf (the file where Frescobaldi saves preferences), delete it and Frescobaldi should once again start fine.

Then, if you feel like hunting the apparent bug down, modify the preferences again, ideally one by one, saving and restarting the editor after each change, and report which one makes Frescobaldi unable to start.

Regards, Jakub
