Hi,

I heard recently that there are a couple of families that are running
some at-home French tutoring sessions for kindergarteners, first and
second graders. We're trying to get a critical mass of French speaking
kids for an afterschool program to start in the Fall, similar to the
EFBA program at Claire Lilienthal. If you're having a private
afterschool program now, you might be interested in joining a larger
group that would meet in a school environment.

Please let me know if you're doing this with your kids, or would be
interested for next year.

Thanks,
Frank

We don't have a school assignment yet but we might be interested as
well. My daughter will be in first grade and already speaks French.

Speaking of Le Jardin: I have had many people ask me about doing an after-school program, and since I've got the facilities and licensing in place, it will be something I can do logistically and legally.  I have asked around and have found 2 or 3 teachers that would be very qualified and interested in teaching this age group (not all the same as the teachers for my preschool program, although there might be an art component that would utilize our artist-in-residence-teacher).  I realize for some people it would be ultra-convenient to have it after school at their own school, but my understanding is that nearly everybody would have to travel for it anyway, since they wouldn't have it in mutiple places -- and that's if the SFUSD can (or is willing to) make it happen at all.  So if anybody is interested, you can send me your info, and I'll put you on the list for after-school, K-1 (or K-2, if enough interest), French lessons.  No commitment yet: just gathering names to see how many are interested.  Classes could be up to 14 children, and we could make them really engaging and level-appropriate since we wouldn't be limited by official curriculum.  I'm assuming 1x or 2x per week.

Hope this isn't an off use of this forum, but I've had a bunch of requests from people I know even on this listserve, and it seemed like an efficient way to get it out to those that might need it.

Hello.
Please add us to your running list. My daughter Ruby spent almost two years at Au P'tit Monde and unfortunately we have not secured a spot at Lycee(2 yrs running). She will be going to a great public school but I'm still very passionate about french for her.. both of us actually.
I love the enthusiasm of all those pushing for a french program and commend everyone for their efforts.
Sharon Kuerschner (and Ruby, soon to be in K grade).

The New Busy think 9 to 5 is a cute idea. Combine multiple calendars with Hotmail. Get busy.
