Kindergarten assignments for Fall 2010

Well, kindergarten acceptances and assignments have been coming the
past 2 weeks. I know that some people have gotten into the Lyc�e or FAIS
or other private schools and others (like my son) have gotten into a
public school they want. Now, those going to one of the French schools
are obviously set for French, but those of us who will be sending our
kids to other schools will be looking for opportunities to keep our kids
speaking French.
I know that this year there have been French afterschool programs for
French speakers at Clare Lilienthal, Flynn and NDV. I have also seen
interest from parents with kids at Rooftop, Grattan, Miraloma, Clarendon
and West Portal, plus we will be sending our son to New Traditions, near
USF. It doesn't seem that any of these schools will have a large enough
demand to have their own program, but if we can pool our resources, it
should be possible to have a program that works for some families.
