Hey Folks,

I just noticed that dogs are A-OK at FreezerBurn this year and would like to take a moment to address Dogs and Burn Events. Or, hey, I could be self-referential and just link to a blog article I wrote on the subject:

I'm going to insert my opinion, take it or leave it (of course): it's going to be cold and damp for part of this weekend. Please rethink bringing your dog. If I was going, I wouldn't bring Chewie because he's not a fan of the cold and damp and gives me dirty looks when he has to go out in it.

The best advice I can give for dogs at events (and this is after Chewie attending 8 events in his time  and 10, if you count work weekends) is KNOW YOUR DOG and KEEP AN EYE ON THEM.

Always a fan of the fur family fun,

Weeble a.k.a. Gyesika Safety

I'm with Gyesika on this one. As a dog trainer and enthusiast myself (and there are two of us in the Volunteer Village) I made the decision NOT to bring my own dog, as well did the other dog trainer. Burns are tricky places to have a canine companion, please if you bring your furry friend keep them somewhere they can be warm and safe when it's cold and BE AWARE of the mental state your dog is in.

Thanks for addressing this Jessica!
