Looks like Delhi DU Metro station has a bike rental facility.

Well I do not have any problem to date per se, since in Gurgaon running errands around the place we have bike stands at most market places here.

But you do have a point. Recently I had the oppurtunity to rent a bike at the DU metro station. The Bikes are at a stand similar to a Bus stand and it was convinient getting the bikes parked and out. It may be a good idea to have a study on how the bike stands are managed in Denmark/Netherlands and create a proposal to submit to the transport ministers office. Since they are thinking about cycling tracks it may be a good idea to have pit stop stands along the way even.

I was wondering if it is even legal for someone to park there cycle in
a 2 wheeler parking. For one bicycles do not have a registration
number which the attendants can write on the coupon. So it all comes
to the fact that you have to get familiar with them and then hope that
they will be there when you come back to get your bike. And hope that
their shift does not end before you come back.

Commuting to work is just one occasion you can use. For some their
office is too far. But most of us have to run errands near our houses.
So there we have multiple ocassions of pedalling. Are there any people
who find the unavailability or difficulty to park their expensive
bikes a deterrant in cycling?

If there are many people, can we think of a legal way for this? Thats
one reason I mailed this to the group. Weekend rides is just one part
of what this group can do. With so many people we can put leverage on
authorities to change policies and rules too.
