ApplePay works with major credit and debit cards from banks around the world, with more added all the time. You can see all the banks that support Apple Pay here. If your card does not yet support Apple Pay, contact your bank for more information.

If your business already accepts credit and debit cards, simply contact your payment provider to start accepting Apple Pay. If you want to accept Apple Pay on your website or in your app, visit Apple Pay for developers.

With Tap to Pay on iPhone, you can use an iPhone to accept contactless payments through an app supported by any of the participating payment service providers. No extra terminal or hardware is required.3 If you already have a payment terminal, contact your payment service provider to find out if it accepts contactless payments.

Apple Cash is a digital card in Wallet that lets you send and receive money in Messages or Wallet. The money you receive appears on your Apple Cash card in Wallet. You can spend it however you like in stores, online, and in apps with Apple Pay.

The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: "I have a new iPhone and my card reader dies not have the same connection - is there a new version ca"

Sorry to here you ran into an issue. Just to clarify, I'm assuming you have a new iPhone 15 (which is the latest model) with iOS 17 (operating system) installed. The issue is if you have a Square Reader - there are two types - one style has the headphone Jack and the other has the Lighting Connector. Neither will fit your new iPhone as it has a USB-C Connector for charging and accessories. In most cases that I've tinkered with when trying to use an adapter to make the Reader compatible, it simply won't work. I've tried extenders and other adapters. It has to do with the internal configuration of the adapters - it's possible they may work with other electronic devices. You may want to consider going to the next level - Square's Contactless and Chip Reader - although not free - it's actually a better option. This Reader connects to your phone via Bluetooth. And the benefit of this Reader is that using Tap or Dip is more secure and lessens your liability against fraud verses Swipe. There's more details here about that.

in addition to @JK_Fiber_Art's great advice, you can take payment via tap directly on your phone without any additional hardware. that was you can take payments from other people's phones (Apple Pay, Google Pay) and via tap of their cards. You get the exact same functionality as the contactless payment device from Square but built-in for free.

-to-pay

The standard Magstripe comes in two options - one with a Lighting Connector and the other with a headset jack - neither will work with your new phone. There is an adapter you can get that is USB-C to Headset Jack - see this info.

And there's Square Reader for contactless and chip payments which connects via Bluetooth. This is a great option and seems to be the most dependable of all your options - just ensure that you keep it charged before using. At least that has been my experience. Others here may have some additional thoughts to share.

On a side note: Both Tap to Pay and the Square Reader for contactless and chip are more secure and reduces your liability of credit card acceptance. Some back the Card Companies shifted card liability to the seller when cards are swiped - just something to consider.

I have the headset jack that Msbyenter linked, and it does not work with Square and my iPhone 15 Pro. I am only able to do Tap to Pay and manually enter the card number (which costs more). Hopefully my late response will save someone else the time it took me for troubleshooting...

I dipped the end part of the needle into it. And waited. I waited about 30 seconds. I dipped it again until it was getting tacky (reduced chance of dripping into the iPhone, and also a reasonable coating of glue).

Thanks for your reply, Brad 805. After trying the method, though, I really didn't want to push things. I live in a remote area, but yesterday went into a city. Unfortunately the 'Mac Shop' there does not deal phones! Went to my provider who didn't have a clue what to do except send it back to Apple (which I am sure would have been 'pricey'). I mentioned it to my dr because I had missed and appt (in the iPhone calendar) and she suggested this shop where they dealt with solar panels but had a fellow in the back who 'fixed iphones. WHAT a godsend he was!!!! Very young fellow but knew his stuff. He even showed me how to do it!!!! You cut a thin strip off the bottom of one of those stick on screen protectors (slightly narrower than the SIM slot). You put the sticky part against the SIM...insert it into the slot....pull it out...and VOILA there is your SIM stuck to the screen protector strip. He was MAGIC and didn't even charge me!!! Hope this helps someone else as everywhere else I went (even a computer repair shop).

If the SIM Card is still in the SIM bay area, very thin (needle nose tweezers), or carefully manipulated with a thin pin. If not careful permanent damage to the SIM bay or the Logic Board can occur. If the SIM Card has slipped deeper into the iPhone, the iPhone will have to be take apart to remove it. Make Genius reservation and take to Apple Store for help.

THAT was exactly the answer i was looking for! My girlfriend had the same issue, and after visiting the apple store where they said there was nothing to do, I went home and tried with a piece of sticky paper (from one of the things they put on your Checked luggage at the airport).

I was getting really desperate and found this thread, so I decided to give the super glue thing a shot... AND IT WORKED!!! Instead of using a pin, I used kind of a thick plastic that was thin enough to fit through the slot. I applied pressure to the stuck sim card for about 2 minutes, then pulled it out, and voila!! Thank you so much!

3. You will need another papercilp. Stick it on top of the sim be careful not to damage the lcd. Push it a little but lower, don't push too hard, keep the papercip inside (That's why using a vacuum cleaner won't work)
