hey guys, 

there's also this model from james rojas in pleasant hill. has anyone seen this in person? it certainly LOOKS cool. i'm not exactly clear if this is something that would supersede the need for stuff from scratch sf? or be complimentary to?

i'm also not sure i have time to do a run to scatchsf AND pleasant hill... what does everyone think, do we need/want both? and if just one, which one?? :)

Hi Jessy,

These are pictures of the model I created of Fulton Street for Sunday Streets. It's at my brothers house in Pleasant Hill. The model fits on a standard 6 ft table. The building are moveable. You can add postits to the model to capture ideas


If you are interesting I can have you pick it up at my brothers house.

cool sorry i didn;t see this. also i didnt realize that these are existing models. it would be nice to have yours on display as a way to show people what we want them to do, since our idea is actually to ask people to use discarded items/scraps to create sculptures and tactile models of their image of the future city. 

where is your brothers house and how large is the scrulpture? i am not totally sure i can get there tomorrow but it might be possible!

i dont know the details of the mayor's innovation office role, or if they have one at this point beyond being active champions and supporters of [freespace] and us helping to launch innovation month? hunter do you have any insight into this?

i think we'll still try to do something on october 1 because it's our opening day and the topic and hands-on activity is super apropos :). do you have any recommendations/contacts for sourcing clean "junk" material (we were thinking maybe go to recology)? if so it would be super helpful!

I think just SCRAP. With just Shuai's $30 gift certificate we can get a ton of stuff. And we can reuse that stuff at some point in Oct.
