How to directly download files without oAuth

Hi everyone,

We're developing a desktop video editing app and wanted to pre-populate some collections with free sounds on app launch, using only Creative Commons 0 and CC-BY Licenses.

It's been good working with getting the metadata which we need to attribute authors, etc. But there is no normal way to download files without oAuth. Do we need to manually download files and upload to our own servers? :(

Hi Alex,

Downloading original quality files without oAuth is not allowed through the API, as original quality files can only be downloaded by users who are logged in (via oAuth). Alternatively, you can download sound previews (including high quality previews) which are fine in most cases. If you are still interested in downloading the original quality files without oAuth, this could be considered a special use of the API and would require a special license, but this is not usually the case. Also note that if your work is happening in a commercial context, you will need a commercial license for the use of the API.
