I am using Outlook Express and I am receiving duplicate copies of
E-mails, , my record so far is six copies of the same message.

Can anyone advise me please?

Check in your settings that `leave a copy` on server isn't ticked.
Goto Tools/Accounts highlight your account, click on properties,
advanced and look down the bottom where it says `delivery`, untick
the `leave a copy of messages on server` box.

I have just tried sending myself an email, worked instantly, rechecked
my mail and it had been deleted from server, is this problem just peculiar to
.freeserve addresses? My address is fsbusiness, or are they all on the same
server? Where' oor Steve when you need him!

It definitely is. I have the same problem on linux (so no outhouse
to contend with).

I also tried manually

telnet pop.freeserve.net 110
user foo
pass bar
list
dele n
quit

and got the failure to unlink message.

seems to have been fixed now ? I subscribe to mailing lists, and came
home to 91 messages, .... then another 91, then another. Like many,
perhaps, played around with the leave messages on server boxes, but
now seems to have worked

Have you got more than one email address using the same account, e.g.
jack@???69.freeserve,and jill@???69.freeserve . Email sent to the account
address is forwarded to all others.
