Hi,

Can anyone please point me in the right direction, or explain to me how to
arrange for me to be able to read my Freeserve Email Account on any PC
anywhere. I have tried this without success.

Also there are 2 of us using this Freeserve Account to send and recive
Email's. Is there any way to prevent my partners name coming up at the other
end when I send Emails from this account. People keep thinking he has sent
the Email when in fact it is me. It comes up with his name in the FROM box
and even though I sign the message people sometimes assume it is from hime
not me.

HELP!

Well I've just returned from 2 months travelling in India/Pakistan and
my solution to this problem was easy and worked fine. I set up a
Hotmail account which includes an option to pick up mail from your POP
server or servers. All you need then is a computer with Web access.

Why not just use fsmail.net which doesn't require you giving anyone else
(eg hotmail) your password.

Set your own email account up by changing the text before the "@" part of
the email address. This can be done by using the wizard prog. Goto
Tools/Acounts, Add/Mail. Enter relevant details when prompted.
When you compose your email, goto the From box at the top and click on your
b/f's name (which will always appear first as this it is flagged as the
default account) and a drop down menu will appear listing other email
accounts. Select yours and off you go.

Mike.

Try the FSMail facility available from the Freeserve homepage.

If you're using Outlook Express for mail as well as news, click Tools,
Accounts, Mail, then double-click the Freeserve item. Make a note of
the details, then close the dialog. Click New, Mail (I'm going from
memory here as I don't use OE myself) and enter the details you just
noted, but substitute your own name and e-mail address for your
partner's. When you've finished, double-click the new item and check
that all the other details are the same as the ones you noted earlier.

Now, when you compose a new e-mail use the option called something like
"Send Using" (probably on the File menu, but if that's wrong someone
else can correct me) and the e-mail will have your name and e-mail
address as the sender.

Because fsmail seems to be broken more often than when it's working.

Set up an account of your own. It can either be a different name
before the '@' symbol, set up locally in Outlook Express on your
existing Freeserve account, or you can open an entirely new Freeserve
account.

Then select your account in the "From" drop-down box in the "New
Message" window when you are composing a new message.

I must have tried it on good days then as it's never failed me on the
(admittedly few) times that I've tried it.

That was the method in OE4. In OE5, select your account in the "From"

drop-down box in the "New Message" window when you are composing a new
message.
