Not sure if other people have noticed this but I get an
underdeliverable message when I send from Freeserve to Freeserve.

The Undeliverable Message is as follows:

The SMTP Server program
<xxxxxxx@xxxxxxx>: host mail.burradonfarm.co.uk[81.3.64.236] said: 554
Service unavailable; [193.252.22.158] blocked using bl.spamcop.net,
reason:
Blocked - see http://www.spamcop.net/bl.shtml?193.252.22.158

So from that it would indicate that Freeserve use Spamcop's Blocking
List and somehow they appear on it as well. Spamcop's own webpage (by
following the above link) says that "...This blocking list is somewhat
experimental and should not be used in a production environment...".
Hmmmm....

Any ideas?

The server that's doing the blocking is mail.burradonfarm.co.uk
(81.3.64.236) which belongs to Simply.net (not Freeserve).

The IP 193.252.22.158 that has, for the time being, been blocked
by SpamCop is allocated to Freeserve/France Telecom and would
appear to belong to a server that handles FSMail.

I assume that Simply.net handle mail redirection for you and that
the block would not occur if you were to send mail to your true
Freeserve e-mail address.

I suggest you an e-mail ab...@fsmail.net,ab...@theplanet.net to
ask how IP 193.252.22.158 has managed to get itself on SpamCop's
blacklist.

Peter - you are exactly right in saying that sending to the true
Freeserve email address works perfectly. I contacted both Energis and
Freeserve and they admitted there Spamcop is blocking Freeserve mail,
here is the email for those interested/having the same problem:

" Dear Tom, Thank you for your email. We are currently aware that
Spamcop are blocking the Freeserve IP range for outgoing mail,
resulting in the non-delivery message you refer to. The issue has
been forwarded to Freeserve Internal Technical Support who are
currently communicating with Spamcop regarding the current
difficulties. We hope to have a resolution to this in the near future,
however in the meantime, thank you for your continued patience. If you
have any further queries then please do not hesitate to get in contact
with us again. Kind Regards Jodie ".

Many thanks for your help Peter,

Regards,

Tom

You mail is being forwarded via Simply Names [81.3.64.236] because you are
using your burradonfarm.co.uk address as the sending address, and forwarding
it via Freeserve's SMTP server.

Spamcop see you as a spammer.
http://www.spamcop.net/w3m?action=checkblock&ip=193.252.22.158

193.252.22.158 listed in bl.spamcop.net. ( 127.0.0.2 )

Rationale: Sample traffic over 1000 counted x .5 (2107); 16 spamtraps

report ratio (2159.000) exceeds threshold (0.020)
653 different users have identified this as a spam source.
