how do I reply to news group answers, when I click reply to sender I am sent
to my default yahoo address with no address for the sended of the answer?
have I got the news group settings (accounts) wrong?

Sounds a lot like it.

If you want to know more about how to set your system up properly, go to
<http://www.ufaq.fsnet.co.uk> and see the section on "Connection problems"
entitled "Dial-up, Mail, News and Browser Settings". Once you have checked
that, then read the section on "News".

If you are still having problems, you could also consider trying the
Google groups system at <http://google.groups.com>
