Does anyone believe in reincarnation?

Does anyone here think it's a fascinating subject?

It is known that the Egyptians believed in reincarnation or the
transmigration of the soul. They thought the soul transmigrated from body to
body and this was a reason why they embalmed the body in order to preserve
it so that it could journey along with ka, an animating force that was
believed to be counterpart of the body, which would accompany it in the next
world or life. Ka might be considered equivalent to the term of soul. This
establishes the dating of the concept of reincarnation back to the ancient
Egyptian religion but many think it dates beyond antiquity.

Hi Catherine :-)
I used to believe because I wanted to, it felt comfortable at the time :-)
I think the fascinating thing is the detail some people can give when
undergoing 'hypnotic regression'.
I used to think NDEs were fascinating....until I read the book by Dr Susan
Blackmoor, who explains the physiological processes of a dying brain closing
down.
I don't think we'll ever get good enough evidence of these phenomena, but
just in case,....... see you on the other side:-)))

As a believer in Spiritualism, I can not discount reincarnation, but I
don't want to come back again, although my spiritual healer, has told me I'm
a very old spirit who has been back to earth many times. ( Hope I have
learned all the lessons that I'm supposed too in this life.) Now Catherine
just watch all the none believers jump on the bandwagon, & a lot of flack
fly round. Enid

Fascinates me. A friend is a healer.

I was always rather sceptical, but a mate of mine was into it so I went to a
few groups with her. I got told a few things that surprised me, but always
had a few doubts.
I eventually had a one to one session. The "medium" described exactly how I
*would* meet my boyfriend, even down to some quite unusual details.
All very strange.

I used to belong to a healing circle a few years ago. I found that working
alone was far more effective. Spiritual healing can make you feel
wonderfully light and relaxed :-)

Hmmm, I've heard it mooted that even 'mediums' that beleive in what they are
doing employ 'cold reading' techniques that anyone can learn. I don't think
they even realise that they are doing it.
I'm sure a search on google in uk.rec.psychic will reveal a site that
explains the technique.
Randi's million still lays unclaimed.......

Oh yeah, I know that, thats why I'd always taken it with a pinch of salt
really, but it doesn't explain how the one I saw knew stuff that hadn't
actually happened (and I didn't know it would happen either). I've got it
all on tape somewhere.

> Yes it does Catkins, I go for spiritual healing whenever I can, which
isn't very often now. It relaxes & calm's the nerves & makes you feel so
much better, but you have to stick at it until the Healer tells you. The
Healer that told me I was a very old spirit was recommended to me & the
problem was good as gone in a couple of months. He also said he could
see me in a very crowded place, & it looked to him like a big church with a
very big dome, I didn't know what he was talking about, but a month later I
was in London & I went to St Paul's Cathedral it only then struck me what
he'd told me as I looked up into the dome. So there you are. I hadn't
even thought about it at that time. Enid

I know, freaky isn't it?
I think I've met 1 medium, (clairvoyant), who told me something that he
couldn't have possibly known or picked up....
