Hey, weird question here but I wasn't able to find much with google. I have a friend who says he dropped a book on his ps4 one day and the power button jammed then slid right out. I've taken a look at it with the case off and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to repair that. Normally no worries, but the ps4 now is giving a message to update via usb on start up, but is also not recognizing a properly formatted usb with the update file on it. I'd like to boot into safe mode, but have no idea how to do that without the power button working. Any help would be appreciated.

I have an old iPhone 7 that I forgot the password to and it deactivated. The power button is also broken but the home button does work. I have assistant touch as well. I would like to put the phone in recovery mode how can I do this?

From reading your post, you have an iPhone 7 that is disabled and you want to know if you can restore it with a broke power button. Without a power button you may not be able to get the iPhone in recovery mode, see this article for the steps: If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled

Press and hold the Side button until the power off slider appears. Drag the slider to turn off your iPhone. Then connect your iPhone to your computer while holding the Volume down button. Keep holding the Volume down button until you see the recovery mode screen".

If you're able to get the iPhone powered off, and powered on, then you should be able to get recovery mode started and continue with the steps from the article. Otherwise you may need to look into getting that button repaired. You can contact Apple Support or set up an appointment with a nearby service center for repair options: Find Locations

I'd like to know how can I enter recovery mode on my iPhone XR without down volume button and side button. The reason why is because my iPhone restarts itself on loop while charging, and I can't use it without the charger because it's frozen (and I have no way to turn on my iPhone without the side button for months).

You can use Assistive Touch on your iPhone. With this feature, you can adjust volume, lock your screen, use multi-finger gestures, restart your device or replace pressing buttons with just a tap. However, it does not allow you to enter recovery mode.

my ipt4g keeps freezing i have NOT jailbroken this ipod and i can't manually enter recovery mode or dfu mode because of my broken power/lock button. I can't restore or sync the ipt4g due to my ibook's os x (10.4.11). like i said here.

The lock/power button on the phone is broken after it got wet. Phone was working fine for 2 weeks, now it's stuck on the Apple logo after resetting network settings. Can i enter DFU mode without a power button?

In more detail: I dried the phone in dessicant for some days , then it was working fine for 2 weeks or so , with the exception of the power button which was electronically stuck at the on position. (after booting up, the red power-off slider would appear as if the button was being pressed. I could tap Cancel and use the phone as normal, only the lock/power button would not do anything. )

My ps4 slim is messing up bad, it wont connect to wifi most of the time and when it does it only says the speed is 1mbps or lower and i have reset the ps4 and router multiple times. The power button has been broken for over two years and so I removed it and the motherboard where the power button was is damaged so theres no fixing that and i couldn't afford it if it could be fixed. The controller imput is also lagging super bad as well as so so many other issues. Thing is this all just started happening a month ago, at first it was barely noticable, now its so bad its unplayable and ive had the ps4 since 2016 and never rebuilt the database once. now i desperetly need to so how can i rebuild database without the power button and why did they remove the option to rebuild database from settings? How can I enter safe mode without the power button or the funds to repair it?

@SeventhFairy If you plug your controller in with a USB cable and then press and hold the PS button as though it were the console's power button, your PS4 should reboot itself in safe mode.

The power button of my HTC Desire S is broken (no response whatsoever), so I have to connect my phone to a usb cable to get it out of stand-by mode. I understood that with a custom rom I can use a volume button for instance to get it out of stand-by mode. However, for flashing the rom onto the HTC Desire S I have to boot it into recovery mode. Which involves pressing the power button...
Any alternative ways to boot the phone into recovery mode?

Hi @clinntf. There is no additional way to put the Floodlight Cam into setup mode. The setup button on the top of the Camera must be pressed in order for the Floodlight Cam to go into setup mode so that you can change the wifi network or reset it. I hope this helps answer your question.

I'm trying to enter DFU mode in my Iphone 3G. And yes, i know how to get it into DFU, but the problem is that my power button doesn't work, so my question is, is there a way to get in to DFU mode through the computer?

Whatever you mean to do, just be sure to read the post completely before doing so, as without a power button you won't be able to shutdown your iPhone to reboot it again. Unless you let it go completely flat - this would take a while.

Please do as the followings: Open iTunes and connect the iPhone to your Mac. ... Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time. ... After exactly 10 seconds release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.
