Here it is! The doc template doesn't work really well for the kind of UX work I'll be doing, but I'm sure you'll get it and you'll be seeing our results online during the next few months :)

My document is quite similar with the one of Arto, as we are working as a team.
I planned to do localization in Finnish.

Thanks guys. Feel free to modify the design docs (e.g. add or remove sections) so it better suits your needs.

Arto & Panu, you still need to change the sharing permissions to allow comments.

We hope to give everyone some preliminary feedback on their design docs before their first meeting.

Hi Everyone,

Building on Dennis' comments... feel free to modify the document to add sections to accommodate your work. Please do keep relevant sections of course. Also, feel free to combine the 3 UX documents into one if it makes more sense. So long as you clearly articulate what each of you are doing, that's fine.

As per the stream strategy section, it is appreciated if you 3 can coordinate and ensure your code integrates successfully (builds, tested, etc.) before doing a single pull request for us to merge upstream.

Building on Andrew's comment it is unclear which interface will be looked at or all of them? Will you be working together as a team or separately on different UI individually?

And comment on how you will document the process. For example, sample of interview questionnaires; UI mock-ups etc.

Hi everyone!

Personas are now on our blog: http://ossux.blogspot.com.
Please take a look and comment!

If you wonder what are personas, you may take a look for example to the good old wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persona_(user_experience)

Basically, they are representing the target users of Freeseer.

Hi Markus,

Wow, it makes an impression to read through all the personas. We are doing a lot, we strive to do even more.

I'd like to contribute directly to tweaking some of the personas. For example, I often deal directly with conference organizers and thus can both simplify and add more important information in their persona. For instance, most of them aren't doing it for money. Most of them have very tight budgets and are trying to record the event as cheaply as possible and with as little disruption to the rest of the conference mechanizations. The desire of the communities they serve provide the compelling force do do the recordings but budgets/finances haven't always caught up to cover costs. We do see more than a few organizers that are very reluctant to go to any effort to support it.

I like the Miguel persona. s/spain & spanish/any language & any country/ so it's great.

If you put the personas in your proposal perhaps so that we can comment on them, this might be a good way to discuss and refine?

Cheers,

Andrew

+1 for adding the persona's to the proposal docs.

I'd like to emphasis Andrew's point on conference organizers. From our
experience more often than not they want to get the recordings as
cheaply as possible. In addition to that typically conference
organizers are not even involved in the video recordings at all. They
usually completely rely on us for setting up the gear and and training
the volunteers. Usually they just provide us with volunteers and point
us to the right person to ask when we have a question like where to
get the video and audio feeds.

Good points about the organizers!
I added the personas to the proposal doc and modified the first one, Damon, a bit.

Use cases and this week's blog posts are online.

It's hard to keep two documents up to date, so we would like to stick to the blog with the produced material.
