UCOSP Meeting Minutes for Nov 9

Status Reports


Faraz:

  • Edits for PR for log/gui notifications.

  • Quality settings for audio/video auto-quality detection.

  • Issues with OGG video plugin causing garbled video: Turned out it was VLC player, not the plugin.

  • Coming Week: Finish up quality settings. Find new issues to work on, since he’s ahead of schedule.


Stephen:

  • DB unit tests PR: ready to merge.

  • Reading up on Yapsy PluginManager and coming up with unit tests for it.

  • Wrote plugin test methods.

  • Started looking for new work for next week: Kaiyuan’s testing issues, and testing pluginManager.


Kaiyuan:

  • Learned py-test

  • Worked on PR609

  • Worked on UI framework, opened PR for it.

  • Windows tests failed due to dir, so opened an issue for it.

  • Next week: Windows test fail issue(#619), DPI framework work.


Brenden:

  • “0 configuration” networking research for headless Freeseer.

  • Worked on prototyping on a windows box.

  • Block: Many options, (including Avahi, but no windows component), but no perfect library for it.

  • Also looked into advertising headless Freeseer server on a network.

  • Learned much about socket programming and UDP.

  • Next week: Will start coding implementation.


Benjamin:

  • Refactoring talk editor to make it easier to test. 

  • Splitting UI from functionality in talk editor.

  • Coming week: Binding functionality to the UI talk editor UI.


Francisco:

  • ProfileManager extensions to delete, list, and create profiles, plus unit tests for extensions. (gh643)

  • Reading about json-schema, and python’s jsonschema package.

  • Config and Option class json-schema methods, plus related unit tests. (gh646)

  • Next week: get above PRs merged, implement profile endpoints, continue with plugin endpoints work.
