hi,
Iam curious if you guys plan to improve RCT1/2, something like add kids and female person people to the game. Or for example a "fluid" transition between 2 textures not like in the orignal (landscape (grass to desert)).

I know its still a long way to get there...

Looking forward to see the next blogpost. :D

Short answer:
Nobody knows what is going to be in the game. There is no pre-defined list of features "to be implemented", like you have with commercial projects.

Longer answer:
Features get added if someone makes a working implementation, and it looks like a good addition to the game. In other words, the list of implemented features is decided by people working on improving the game.

My personal goal is "a fun game with guests, shops/rides, and coasters". I don't know what it means exactly, but I am enjoying the journey, and we'll find out where it brings me :)
Other people have different personal goals. If their ideas get to the 'working implementation' stage (and fits in the game then), it is likely to be included in the game too.

A common mistake is that people wanting to contribute think they have to be able to provide the feature right now. Obviously, if you want the feature now, you should be able to. On the other hand, the game is not going anywhere. Unless the Internet gets deleted, this game will be here in, say, 2 years from now. Thus if "getting a working implementation" means you have to learn programming or learn drawing, go work on that first. We can wait, there is lots of other fun stuff to do.

I did that with this project. I 'started' back in 2007 or so. I wanted to do an open source game project, coaster building seemed like fun, but I felt not ready. So instead, I joined another open source project to get my feet wet in learning how such a project works. It took 4 years until a good opportunity presented itself, and here I am.
