Hello!
Let’s summarize the various issues relating to the development of FreeRCT:
·The graphics resolution mode is isometric
·The basic built-in-graphics used by the game engine are in a file called G1.DAT
·Certain items from the original RCT(1) that are/were missing from RCT2 (especially—the spinning jar cars option for the Compact Steel Coaster)
·The default method for custom-made content in RCT2 (by basing it on an already-exisiting item, then—reskinning it to appear and function differently); given the size limitations on each base, certain attractions were then deemed IMPOSSIBLE to recreate as actual working items (such attractions like: Super Slide, certain Swinging Ship types, tall Parachute and Tower type rides, and certain Spinning Vehicle and Towered Spinning Vehicle type rides).
·The musical selections used by the game engine are in files called CSS{##}.DAT, where the {##} indicates the number(s) of these selections; players may only designate 2 custom-made musical selections (Custom Music Selection 1 and Custom Music Selection 2)
·Various limitations on the number and variety of each type of item (flat rides, tracked rides, shops/stalls/facilities, scenery items, scenery group tabs, paths, water selection, and park entrance selection) are imposed upon players within the Scenario Editor utility machine—which makes item selection very tricky at times. While having only 1 park entrance per scenario is agreeable, players (currently) may only place the entrance ONCE on the scenario’s game map; real parks may have MULTIPLE entrances/exits, depending on the park’s physical layout and setup.
·The original RCT(1) and RCT2 games DID NOT originally have any provisions for game stalls, nor for arcades; certain RCT2 custom object items do exist that appear to be midway games and arcade items (shop stalls and scenery items), which is somewhat undesirable. A new object item type (Midway/Arcade Game Facility) MUST be created by us to remedy this overglaring pit hole!
·Likewise—there were certain food/drink/souvenir items that WERE NOT represented in the original games AT ALL: Pasta, fried dough (tottellers), pastries, candies, milkshakes/frappes, smoothies, BBQ ribs, roast beef sandwiches, udon/ramen noodles, poutine, onion rings, rice tots, fish and chicken sandwiches, various meat/side platters, family dining/buffet restaurants, gift shops, sand art, photo booths, snow cones, CDs/DVDs/BRDs disks, software on disks, rainwear, bookshops, flagshops, swim/poolwear, towels, ... . These new items (like the Midway/Arcade Game Facility item type category already mentioned) will ALSO need introduction into FreeRCT by us, to give us players more variety to choose from.
·In Parkitect, facilities are provided for stuff like: Shipping/distribution of ingredients/items needed for the shops/stalls/facitlities using depot buildings/staff-only paths/underground staff-only paths/workers called haulers (who may use dollies and utility carts to carry the items to the shops/stalls/facitlities). These must also be incorporated by us into FreeRCT. There should also be workshop buildings for the mechanics to be based in to be called onto emergencies as needed.
A comprehensive list of these items will be forthcoming. Thank You!
