I've faced with problem that even if I don't do any changes in my home directory hourly backup have a couple of megabytes of new files. After investigation, I found that slack uses .config directory for storing cache to. What is the reason? Why do you do such unexpected behavior on Linux?

I don't seem to have the setting that Shawn mentions, but i was able to make this work by opening up the /usr/lib/slack/resources/app.asar.unpacked/src/static directory, making a copy of the slack-taskbar-rest.png file and renaming it to slack-taskbar-unread.png to overwrite the version with the blue dot.

Until then, this should be a community wiki, to prevent a new answer from being generated for each new slack version. Add your scripts here, and clearly state the latest version on which it works, newest on top.

More elaborate but hopefully future-proof answer. You want to search for setTrayIcon function in the main.*.js file (in 4.27 it's named main.bundle.js). Look for code using the icon file - const O = nt.resolve(__dirname, "resources", 'slack-taskbar-$t.ico'); In this case variable t is the status selecting the image. You want to add condition changing t to "rest" when it's "unread".

- The whole system freezes, I can't switch to another terminal and fix things
- It occurs on Gnome Wayland and XOrg
- It is resolved by starting with linux-lts (5.15.86-1) instead of linux (6.1.4.arch1-1)

I'm using Garuda Linux for a while now and recently I was in need of using slack for professional usage I immediately found that it was not working as expected because, in the dragonized edition, Slack fails to sign in!

Open the slack client and click on login. Now the redirect will fail and you won't be logged in but in Browser, you'll see that slack gives you one magic link. Simply click on that button to copy the magic link and click on the slack app.

Download Slack export from Slack.
Download attachments via Slack Advanced Exporter. The export-with-attachments.zip has all the files in the __uploads folder.

errorVerbose":"installExtractedPlugin: Unable to move plugin from temporary directory to final destination. Another plugin may be using the same directory name., destination already exists\nFailed to install extracted prepackaged plugin /opt/mattermost/prepackaged_plugins/mattermost-plugin-nps-v1.0.4-linux-amd64.tar.gz\ngithub.com/mattermost/mattermost-server/v5/app.(*App).processPrepackagedPlugin\n\tgithub.com/mattermost/mattermost-server/v5/app/plugin.go:845\ngithub.com/mattermost/mattermost-server/v5/app.(*App).processPrepackagedPlugins.func2\n\tgithub.com/mattermost/mattermost-server/v5/app/plugin.go:791\nruntime.goexit\n\truntime/asm_amd64.s:1373"}

Thanks a lot, that worked!. Well, mostly. A lot of the attachments are now there, but not all of them. When using mmetl, I get the best results - but I also noticed that after the conversion, not all attachments that are present in the slack export are also in the bulk-export-attachments folder. When I compare the .json files in the slack archive of files that work and files that do not, I unfortunately cannot find any differences. Some of them are rather long and complex names, others are rather short, all of them are .jpg - and none of them work. All of them are in the same channel, so it must have something to do with that - but I cannot figure it out.

I came across this - add support for new slack post format and multiple attachments in slack importer by svelle Pull Request #11415 mattermost/mattermost-server GitHub which discusses the ability to import attachments from Slack to Mattermost as well. Still a work in progress based on the status of the PR.

Unfortunately I haven't used puppy linux in a while, I was a big user in the 2.xx and 4.xx series, up to the CE edition. So I am a bit out of touch with many of the technical aspects, but I have some questions

High Mike,
I didn't get the option to make a save folder only a save file which I did make in the absence of the ability to make a save folder but I would prefer to have a save folder. I have the 64 bit version of bionic pup installed. On first shutdown it gave me the option to save to a save file or a save folder. I chose save folder and as sda2 was the only drive which had a linux file system it went there. I also have a save folder for BusterDog on the same partition.

I install jcc -linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 15#1042648 and muksearch (attached) without problem here, in slacko647.
I install inkscape from ppm, and it delete inkscapelite. I think this problem still occur from bionicpup. So maybe it is on woof ce github problem. Then, I manually copy paste inkscapelite from the original iso from /usr/bin/inkscape to my real /usr/bin/inkscapelite.
The wifi connection after I reboot not automatically connect. I must connect it manually from start.
Thank you 01micko.

If you are leveraging CounterMeasures remediation and are sending the output to a private slack channel, you will have to further enable the FortiMonitor bot to post the rich content to your channel by doing /invite @FortiMonitor in the channel.
