-> Yes. I used WUA to scan for offline updates. After scan, I downloaded update packet from Windows Update Catalog to specific folder in system. Next step, I want to install this update packet by using WUA API. But I cannot do it success now.
I was able to use the Windows Update API to do an offline install of KB5030211. First I uninstalled the update from a Win 10 22H2 test system. It should be noted that Cumulative updates like this one also contain a servicing stack update. Servicing stack updates cannot be uninstalled. After rebooting, I downloaded the related .msu standalone update from the Microsoft Catalog. Then I expanded the contents of the .msu file to a folder using the expand command. An example of its use is in Description of the Windows Update Standalone Installer in Windows. I also downloaded the standalone wsusscn2.cab file for offline scanning.
The offline scan detected the update was not installed, but at first I was unable to successfully use the IUpdate2::CopyToCache method. Then I realized that the IUpdate interface returned from the search may be for a bundled update. which was causing the failure of the call to CopyToCache. This turned out to be the case in my test and after obtaining an IUpdate2 interface for the update in the bundle the CopyToCache method succeeded.
As you have seen Microsoft's monthly Cumulative Update to windows actually includes 2 updates; the service stack update and the security update. I believe this is what is referred to as a bundled update.
I try to print some information about bundled update, but it seems we just can get bundle update count. Bundled update title is null. It is difficult to detect how add bundle update follow correct order to copy to cache of windows update.
--> actually, I just to try to install for both services stack update and secure update of one update packet ( extract from one .msu file) at a time. For now, we are install success for secure update. I am trying to install for service stack update also. But I don't find the way add services stack to windows update cache together with secure update at same time before install.
I just posted this blog post on how to search and download offline Windows update files from the Microsoft Update Catalog using PowerShell. I use this in my day job to automate the monthly template patching process as the templates do not have network connectivity. Hopefully it helps some of you with similar requirements.
Team, searched but not found anything concrete, so forgive me someone else asked or found anything I missed. I have used WSUS offline updater before and with great success. I am at a new company, and they have never heard of or used it. I need to give them some assurance this a supported or safe method for updating machines offline or with slow connection, but of course I need supporting documentation or link. Has anyone found a site or can share documentation that supports or rejects this process, thanks.
Thank all, I think I have what I need. When I think about it now, it is no different than going to the catalog myself and downloading from the site. This just automates it as mentioned by CrashFF, and in the link provided by Supeman's grandson, Son of Jor-El lol. Since he provided the suggestion first, I will award him the points. I hope none feel cheated.
The following example runs the wusa.exe command to install an update (windows10.0-kb5003646-x64_ef50cfb8e8067dd27c13ae7c4150d20cb346b3bf.msu in this case) file located in the current directory. This will run the installer interactively and will prompt for input as required.
We installed Windows Admin Center 1904.1. I am trying to add a nupkg extension using -us/windows-server/manage/windows-admin-center/configure/using-extensio... as a reference. I've tried adding every combination of file share path I can think of on the Feeds tab, including \\DFS namespace\share\folder, \\hostname\share\folder\ , \\hostname\share\folder\name.nupkg, etc. Unfortunately the Available extensions tab just says "No records found." Can anyone provide an example path that worked to add extensions on an offline network?
If you subscribe to Apple Music, you can add music from the Apple Music catalog to your music library. Stream music that you've added over an internet connection. Or download music that you've added to listen to offline.
We are pleased to announce the Public Preview of files and images from Dataverse in offline for canvas apps. This new feature is built on top of the already announced Canvas built-in offline that is in Preview since September 2023.
It is always challenging but critical to give access to files and images to frontline users when their devices are not connected to the network. Indeed, downloading files and images is usually a long process and can take a lot of space on the disk of the device. When Sales reps browse their catalog of products to create an order, they typically want to see the high definition of the pictures of the products and sometimes need to access their detailed specification. Another great scenario is for inspections where inspectors need to take pictures to illustrate their observations or to be used as evidence for further analysis.
In an offline-enabled canvas app, you can now either allow the files and images to be downloaded on view or on sync. With those two modes, you can decide the strategy to download files and images on the device of the user for an offline usage, and optimize the disk size depending on the business needs of the end users.
When files and images are configured to be downloaded on sync, files and images are downloaded during the offline sync when the device is connected. The user can access the content without connectivity and is notified in the application when the download of the files and images is completed. For this mode, you just have to add the column referencing the files or images in the offline profile.
While you're offline, changes made to your files and folders on your offline device won't sync with Dropbox. This means that the changes won't show on other devices you have synced to your Dropbox account.
Note: The ability to make an entire folder available offline is only available to customers on Dropbox Plus, Family, Professional, Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise plans. The ability to make individual files available offline is available to all Dropbox users.
Once a file or a folder has been made available offline, it'll have an offline icon (white downward-facing arrow in a green circle) next to or under it in your file or folder list. To see a list of your offline files or folders:
