Hi,

At the download section there seems to be only a FedoraCore specific
RPM package :(.
RPM is used however by more distributions, not just Fedora (e.g.
Novell/opensuse too).

Are there any plans to offer a generic RPM distribution, or at leas a
binary one (e.g. like Java has)?

The "platform independet" one seems to be only the sources, so they
don't just work: under windows seems to be much simpler since there's
an installer that does everything.

Or are there any plans to offer a linux installer?

Thanks,

Tiho.

Hi Tiho,

Unfortunately, I am not aware of any linux installer technology that
seems to be seeing much adoption. Autopackage looked promising for a
while, but I'm not so sure now. Older versions of FreeMat came in a
binary package -- I have been thinking about reintroducing the binary
package for the FreeMat 4.0 release.
