A Virtual Machine where FreeMat really builds?

Hi,
it looks like building FreeMat is quite fragile (even with the new
cmake on freemat4) :(. On various systems it always fails (at least to
me, but apparently to many other users too) because of something:
another library version already installed, or missing something and
user has to manually get it, other configuration style of libs, or
whatever - it always breaks because of something :(.

An option would be to have a Virtual Machine (e.g. for VMWare - it
could be uploaded even here to avoid download traffic: http://vmware.com/appliances/)
with a minimal required set of tools for Linux that would simply build
FreeMat guaranteed - i.e. it would not require from the user any
updates.

This would allow much more users to contribute and concentrate on
FreeMat, not on figuring out how to build it.
Considering how many feature requests are open on sf.net, it looks
obvious that some more community help is required, but this won't
happen unless there are fewer "entry obstacles" (IMHO building being
the first and the biggest one). What do you think about this issue ?

Thank you,

A.
