Top qualifications
· 5y+ hands-on experience in User Experience Design on Tableau, including at least three years of which are customer facing.
· 5y+ hands-on experience conducting stakeholder interviews, user requirements analysis, task analysis, UI modeling, UI architecture, interaction design, and usability testing.
· 5y+ hands-on experience leading participatory and iterative design activities, including observational studies, customer interviews, usability testing, and related activities.
· 5y+ hands-on experience producing user requirements, specifications & experience goals, low and high fidelity wireframes, personas, storyboards, scenarios, flowcharts, design prototypes, and design specifications
· 5y+ hands-on experience with Human Centered Design and Design Thinking.
· 5y+ hands-on experience developing proof-of-concepts and prototypes of easy-to-navigate user interfaces (UIs) that consists of Tableau reporting pages with graphics, color schemes, and capabilities designed for Tableau.
· 5y+ hands-on experience developing Usability Testing Plan, Usability Testing Scripts, and Usability Testing Report
· Must be willing to relocate to Sacramento, CA for duration of role.
Key Requirements
· Strong desire to design UX rich Tableau applications and ability to execute it
· Excellent analytical skills
· Strong experience in Tableau information architecture, Tableau interaction design, and Tableau user-centered design process, as well as Tableau user experience principles and techniques
· Familiarity with Tableau user interface and best-practice user patterns
· 5+ years of experience of excellent communications and working collaboratively with Tableau developers, business analysts, ETL developers, and customer stakeholders
· Strong time management skills and ability to be self-directed when appropriate
· Solid written, verbal, and visual communication skills with the ability to present a strong rationale for design decisions
· An intellectual curiosity resulting in constant learning and growth
· A portfolio of authored samples demonstrating all of the above
Critical responsibilities
· Effectively communicate, collaborate, and engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders to build consensus around user experience architecture and interaction designs in Tableau
· Create scenarios, process flows, information architecture diagrams, wireframes, prototypes and other artifacts required to develop and evolve user experience designs
· Facilitate user workshop, design brainstorming, and work sessions collaborating with business and IT groups onsite at customer locations
· Develop and refine reusable UI pattern libraries and interaction guidelines consistent with customer design standards and templates for Tableau
· Ensure highest standards of usability, consistency, and clarity in design and quality of deliverables
· Continued watch of deployed Tableau applications seeking opportunities for improvements and increasing customer satisfaction
· Prefer degree or certifications in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, cognitive science, or other UX related disciplines
