4-7pm. The SNP's landslide: what does this mean for Scotland's future?
After the SNP's stomping victory in the Scottish elections last week,
it's worth asking what this will mean for Scotland's future -
economically, socially, as well as constitutionally. Will a victory
for the SNP protect Scotland from the ConDem axe? Or will Salmond let
the cuts rain in from Westminster, and use it tactically to push for a
break from the union? And just where exactly do the SNP sit on the
political spectrum anyway? Has Labour's electoral dominance been well
and truly smashed? And perhaps most pressing of all: does this spell
the end of the United Kingdom? And is that a good thing, or bad?
Explore these questions and more.

A volunteer with Medecins San Frontieres (MSF) will be coming to the
Free Hetherington to do a talk/discussion about his recent experiences
in Libya where MSF carried out medivac operations and is currently
still providing badly-needed humanitarian medical care in places such
as Misrata even as the bombs continue to fall.

During the medivac the volunteer took part in they did not seek
permission from NATO, the Libyan rebels or forces loyal to the
dictator Qaddafi.

This promises to be a powerful and fascinating, account relaying
first-hand experiences of the situation in rebel-held Libya. The
volunteer will also relay his experiences of working with MSF in other
parts of the world.

Medecins San Frontieres are an example of global civil society at its
finest and should be an inspiration to us all and the Free
Hetherington are proud to host such an event.
