Owen Jones will be coming to the Free Hetherington tomorrow, Sunday
21st, at 5:30. His book "Chavs : the demonisation of the working
class" is particularly topical at the moment with the media coverage
of the riots in England - as always we expect a lively and stimulating
discussion.
Monday 22nd 9pm onwards PUB QUIZ!
Tuesday 7-9pm Anarchist Federation meeting. Open to all who are

Thursday 6pm Occupation play "Small Society" written and performed by
members of the occupation commenting on the riots down South - you
will laugh, you will cry and then the play will start bang on
Hetherington time ;)
Friday 8pm Film showing "The Age of Stupid" - controversial film -
important drama challenging climate change or classist / racist /
bleeding heart insult to Pete Posselthwaite's genius? Come watch a
provoking film in our last ever Friday Film slot - insightful
discussion and slightly off the wall rants guaranteed in the
discussion afterwards!
Saturday 27th Demonstration to save the Accord Centre. 12 noon assembe
at Parkhead Forge, Duke St entrance. The Accord Centre is a daycare
centre for people with learning disabilities in the East End of
Glasgow that is being demolished to make way for a bus park for the
Commonwealth Games. Service users and parents have been campaigning
for months for a like for like replacement for this much needed
service in the East End.
Monday 29th 9pm last ever Monday pub quiz. These have always been fun
and interesting and most of the regular quiz masters are doing a guest
round for the occasion.
We close the doors for good on 31st August, so come in over the next 9
days and get your last memories. Good tea and chat always available.
