- your final chance to show the University Senior Management what you

Austerity Auction
Can Muscatelli find the money to save our courses? One minute the
situation was dire, now maybe he's found a few million down the back
of his sofa - but many courses are still threatened. We can't afford
to take any chances, so we're going to hold a fund-raising auction to
help!
We've got all sorts of tat to auction - come along and bid for
hand-crafted expletives and broken guitars!
All (any...) money raised will be presented to university principal
Anton Muscatelli in the form of a BIG CHEQUE!

Fed up with the police sticking a camera in your face whilst you are
exercising your democratic rights? And what happens to those pictures
anyway? This workshop explores tactics to deal with them, and explains
your legal rights under the Data Protection and Freedom of Information
Acts. Secret Police are especially welcome to attend!

A campaign organising meeting towards the anti-cuts demonstration on
the 22nd of June. While you are very welcome to come to any campaign
meeting or to join in by popping by the building any time, Thursday
evening meetings are intended to be public meetings, aimed at people
who have not yet been involved in the campaign. Come on down and help

Radical Reading Group - The Tyranny of Structurelessness
As part of our plan to to create an 'alternative university' we have
decided to set up a small reading group where, each week, at a regular
time, anyone interested can pop by and talk about radical, provocative
literature in a more formalised context.
Each week, an essay, extended piece of journalism, or small book will
be selected for discussion. We will announce the name of the piece
several days beforehand, so you have time ...to prepare.
Too often in book clubs, books are selected that no-one reads –
because of time constraints, lack of energy etc. That’s why we would
like to keep the selected pieces limited to essays, journalism, and
smaller books if possible. (Though well-known pieces of longer fiction
and non-fiction may be an option).
The first essay we will be looking at is the ‘Tyranny of
Structurelessness’ by Jo Freeman, which explores the issue of
leaderlessness within feminist collectives. We hope this will be a
very stimulating, thought-provoking way to kick off our reading
group....
