I really apologize that I haven't been keeping you all updated. I
will try to do a better job.

We have been doing a lot of work in Cleveland on two fronts. So here
is a bit of an update, with more to come.

1. Support for existing Freehand Systems. We have recently received
a donation of some Freehand items from Dr. Ross Nathan, which was
extremely helpful. Also, I just completed a purchase of some of the
items that remained when NeuroControl closed. In particular, we have
a lot of batteries now. I haven't had a chance to test them, but if
you are in need of batteries for your system, let me know. This
should at least help us to keep going as far as fixing things for a
little while longer.

Also - I have been in ongoing discussions with a local company here to
possibly start selling Coils and Shoulder Controllers. We have to
work out all the regulatory issues that go along with that - it's
never as simple as it should be. I'll keep you updated.

2. Return of the "Freehand". We really want to get this system back
on the market. I currently have a waiting list of almost 100 people
who want to get the Freehand System. We are very close to working out
a deal that would make this system available again. It won't be the
same Freehand System (which is now about 20 years old in its design) -
it will be a newer system that has some additional functions. At
first, we will probably only be able to do the surgeries in Cleveland,
but we are hoping to expand that as well. We have found a few private
donors who are willing to help make this a reality (even in today's
economy), so I am very hopeful that we will be able to get this going
again.

Also - we were able to get some funding from the Paralyzed Veterans
Association to do some long-term follow-up with Freehand users (and to
do some of our technical support). We are currently following up
local Cleveland Freehand users, but we will soon be expanding our
follow-up to include all U.S. Freehand users. So -- you'll be hearing
from us sometime over the next few months regarding the details.
Being able to show how people are continuing to use the Freehand
System - even after NeuroControl dumped it - will go a long way in
helping to convince our various institutions that this system is
worthwhile and should be made available again.

Again - I apologize for the long delay. We're very busy trying to do
the right thing!

Kevin,

GREAT NEWS! I know you've been working hard for a long time to get
this equipment and to find ways to support our existing systems.

Like Robert, let me know if there is anything I can do to help the
Freehand system to get the updates out there. Cleveland's not too far
of a drive to promote the work you are doing.

Toddman, I might be interested in buying some of your equipment.
Please send me an email with the parts you have and prices at
