Hi All

A local group in health care requires instrument middleware for a blood bank system and I am taking part in the discussions and Jan from OpenELIS subscribed here too.

OpenELIS Vietnam's middleware will be released on Github real soon now, built in
Node JS: is to communicate with Serial Port
Angular JS: it’s a front-end application to display test results which transferred from analyser
Database: Mongo DB
LIMS: OpenELIS Global Code Base

I am not sure whether it does serial interfacing yet and could be too OpenELIS specific for Froid's objectives.

$15,000 question: Is there anybody in this group to assist with building Froid and 2 Blood Bank Interfaces and what would you charge?
We estimate a professional Python developer will need about 3 man months under our tutelage to have it running.

Used for Transfusion Transmitted Infection (TTI) and blood group serology testing:
  • Abbott Architect
  • BioRad Tango
  • Both using ASTM (E 1381-91 and E 1394-91) and HL7v2 standards.

  • Per industry norm, expect them to deviate form the spec in undocumented ways...
+ 2 Months for the second instrument and HL7?

Instrument interface specs, example data streams and testing to be provided by the client.

Please pm if you are interested, and at what hourly rate, and I'll clobber a proposal together. Appreciated.
Froid design overview.

We are also in discussions with an university engineering department developing instruments in the food industry, which could lead to further developments, albeit at an academic pace.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Hi All

OpenELIS Vietnam's middleware will be released on Github real soon now,

https://github.com/OpenLabConnect/

https://github.com/OpenLabConnect/OpenLabConnect/blob/master/Readme.md

The open source is to interface analyzers and automatically transfer test results to LIMS. It also uses another open source (OpenHIM) as a mediator.

There are 2 parts of the application:

  • Server side is using NodeJS to monitor data from serial port of analyser, process data and insert into MongoDB.

  • Client side is a web-based application which is using AngularJS to allow end-users to check/ view test results which are transferred from analyser, then users can transfer test results to a LIMS.

 Technologies used in the project:
