To those of you who are joining: thanks for trying this experiment in
improved communication, sharing and information exchange. Make sure you
make your group settings so this group can be of optimum use to you...
To those of you who are visiting: come back later and we'll have a lot
more for you to read and participate in.

Thanks for setting this up and keeping the freeform radio conversation
alive. Trying to keep up in the non-mainstream music conversations of
group communities I first engagned in Geocities, then Yahoo! Groups
then Myspace and now these Google Groups. Each time reluctantly ....
It is interesting how the things moves....

So my own freeform radio show Outsight Radio Hours is still on WXOU
88.3 FM (casting at WXOU.org), a station that has been freefrom for a
long time (http://www.wxou.org/history.html). On Internet my show is
on www.NewArtistRadio.net, www.radio-freedom.com, www.luver.com and
more.

Greetings to everyone. Good to see those out there with an interest in
freeform radio. I still believe this format can be done successfully
and most likely, will be tried again as radio competes with satellite
and the internet. One can hope. I'm an avid listener to all forms of
music and still enjoy freeform radio streams, ala WFMU and of course,
the last remaining commercial freeform FM that I know of, Northern
California's KHUM.

Hey Malcolm

Thanks to you for continuing with this and for inviting me to join the
proceedings. Back in the day I discovered so much terrific music on
the FM dial through freeform outlets, primarily from WNEW-FM in New
York and WFMU when it was still at (the no longer existing) Upsala
College.

I'm still a big believer in freeform, so much so that I've been
broadcasting my own stream on the Web since 2001. If anyone is
curious, head on over to either http:///www.luckydogradio.com or
http://www.myspace.com/luckydogradio to take a look and/or listen. And
if you do, I'd love to hear whatever feedback you'd care to offer.

Needless to say, I think that freeform radio's future is on the
Internet. When Internet radio gains true portability, freeform will
have a seat at the table.

I'm looking forward to the discussions to come.

jt

Thanks for contributing. It's great to see freeformers and lovers of freeform check in and give more info. There's no way any of us experience(d) it all [though there have been some who have tried!] or remember it all... Over time, I had lost the LuckyDog link, so it's nice to have my mental DB restored... M
