Hey,
I've wanted to install adobe digital edition. Now I'm having a problem with installation. When installation is almost complete a dialog box says to "authorize computer". See in the first picture attached.

If I select don't authorize it gives me an error which is attached as picture also.

Tell me what is this? Should I create an adobe account? Any other solution is greatly appreciated.

When I install this software they also ask for authorize computer. But I don't select it and this will give no problem in the rest of the installation. Look this is a new software and there may be many unchecked bugs on it.

Tell me the installation source from where I can perform the online
installation. This is because I want to know if this software can work
for viewing pdf in absence of adobe pdf reader.

It's working now. Hence, thanks very much S M Abdullah (along with
adobe inc.) for this nice software (Adobe Digital Editions).

Everytime I start adobe digital edition. It shows a dialog box saying

================================================|
| "There is a new version of adobe digital editions
available. |
| To continue using Adobe digital edition you
must |
| download the
update" |
|================================================|

Two options:
-- Not now, close digital edition
-- Update now

Everytime I click update now it updates using firefox(flash plugin
does this job). And then next time I open the application it says the
same thing and I update and it says again.. It continues..

Does anyone know about this problem and its solution? Any hint or link
will be appreciated too..

Yes. I have solved the problem.
My application was being updated in a directory:
C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player
\www.macromedia.com\bin\digitaleditions1x5

But the file associated for every pdf file was the original one from
which I made the installation. It's total wrong thing done by Adobe
Inc.

Why don't they make a full version installer which will not be dealt
as the original program but that will install and configure everything
depending on the system and upgrade itself not using firefox slow
shockwave flush plugin!

I associated the download file with pdf extension which don't say to
upgrade(until next update is released) again.

Thanks everyone.

How to show drive letters first or last (This is needed when you use a modified XP)
======================================================================
Open regedit (Go to run from start menu)
Then navigate to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer]

set the value for
"ShowDriveLettersFirst"=dword:00000000

0: for default settings
4: show drive letter first
