Hi, all,

I started working on the release V 5 of FreeEed and FreeEedUI, and I expect it to go through a few iterations, where testing would be very helpful. Anybody who is willing to do some testing, please reply, and I will give you more details.

Thank you very much.

Hi mark,

Any word on when this new release will be available? I'm eager to assist with beta testing and I am working with another company that I think would be interested as well.

Thanks!
Dennis

Dennis,

I have set the release date for May 1, this includes testing. What is also important is that FreeEed has by now generated enough interest to justify regular update schedules, and that is the plan. Finally, working for real users and use cases.

Also true is that mutual benefit is the ultimate goal. Just because the software is open source and free does not mean that you (or I, for that matter) are not making money. So various business arrangements are welcome.

Thank you,
Mark

Good, Robert, thank you. I think you are already testing the current version. If you want the new one, here is the information below

1. Basic. Just download, unzip, and run through the provided example. I tested this myself on Windows, Mac (yes!) and Linux. So just confirm that it runs, or send me any install problems you might have.

2. Anything goes for further testing and validation. Ditto for feature requests.

Just like in the "drying game" in Alice in Wonderland, there are no rules. You simply run with it for as long as you want. I will publish the results of this wave of testing and the update, so that you will all know.

Again, thank you.

Sincerely,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Is html preview working in version 5.1?

If it is disabled, how can I enable?

Best regards,

It's disabled on purpose, it was giving too much trouble. If you can describe the use case, I can look at it again.

thank you,
Mark

It's for proof of concept presentation. Html preview is a requirement.

Thanks

Hi, is this project still active?  I found it while doing research and would like to invest some time helping out.

Hi there,

I have been testing the Free Eed software for a bit. Does the export functionality work from the UI? Exporting files gives me blank zips.

Also, is there a way to export and batestamp?

Regards,

Alex

Hi, Alex,

exporting from the UI should definitely work; you need to check your setup or the way you are doing processing/exporting. Bates is coming soon.

Thank you,
Mark

Hey Mark,

Thanks. I have the software loaded on two separate instances with no luck.  Is there something in the setup that needs to be completed before I can successfully export tagged items in UI?

Alex,

the VM should work out of the box. If you do your own setup, anything can go wrong. If you want to share the screen, please use this link, Book a call with me here

Ok- I will work through it.

I get this error - Data do not exist! Please set the 'Files location' property in Case settings page. However, the case settings are correct and linked back to the native file.

Hey Mark,

I continued to test yet have not found a workaround. I even tested your AMI on amazon and even that instance does not work. Same error. I can leave the instance up and running if you wish in order to verify.

Hope it all works out. I look forward to the next update!

Patrick,

test data will be great. It usually takes the lawyers a lifetime to release data...

Let's start direct communication, mark.k...@shmsoft.com, and please colled the data and question.

Thank you,
Mark
