Hi,

I am sorry to have been incomunicado for a while. I was in South
America for a month or so. Peru and Ecuador. I now have to do some
other stuff, specifically tax returns at this moment...

I really would like to get back to my open source hacking. I'm sure I
will in the next couple of months or so, though I don't know at what
level of intensity. The summer, particularly from about late July is
looking much better for that. I'll be at my parents' house in Canada
for a month with nothing much to do. :-)

I have felt guilty for being so unresponsive lately, though OTOH
nobody is paying me. (If somebody did want to pay me to be available
on this stuff, I could be open to that, and we could talk about it...)

Anyway, I am back. And if there is anything you want to ask me about,
you can do so on the list, and I'll be as responsive as I can within
my current time constraints. Well, anyway, I have not (at least in my
own mind) given up on freecc. The whole mess with the javacc community
is quite discouraging, since having to fork off a separately named
project meant that my work on this would not be very visible (while
there non-work on javacc is highly visible, which is infuriating...)
but I knew the lay of the land in advance OTOH, so basically, I just
mean to reassure you that I have not abandoned freecc. I really do
hope that at some point it is not a one-man show, so the issue of
whether I am working on it will be less important, since other people
will pick up the slack when I am busy with other things.

(I started this off as a personal note to Paolo, who wrote me in
private, but finally added a cc to the list.)

JR
