Dear folks,

I have /usr/ports/print/texlive-scheme-full installed, and I cannot
run pdfnup which is part of the pdfjam package. In one of my
machines, I went ahead and checked make config from official pdfjam
port to see if it did not have teTeX deps, and it only depended on
pdflatex being present which is part of texlive-scheme-core package
which is installed. I installed it and now I can use pdfnup command.
Will there be a conflict between the two packages? Or is there a
difference between the two? When I installed texlive 2010 from dvd,
the install included pdfnup and pdfnup worked without installing the
pdfjam port. Also when I had teTeX installed, pdfnup did not work, so
I had to install it with the ports. Thanks for having freebsd-texlive
ports, they make TeXing and LaTeXing a breeze :)

Regards,

Antonio

Hi Antonio!
Sorry for the late reply!

I have just committed a change I had in my local repo for a while and
which fixes a few symlinks.

/usr/local/bin/pdfnup is installed by texlive-core, and is a symlink to
/usr/local/share/texmf-dist/scripts/pdfjam/pdfnup (at least it SHOULD!
it was broken in texlive-core-20110705 but is now fixed in
texlive-core-20110705_1).

Both port will provide files that install in the same place, so I would
recommend you to remove the pdfjam port, and then update texlive-core.
Everything should then be fine!

Please tell me if it works as expected! I saw this problem only a few
weeks ago while I discovered pdfbook which is another pdfjam wrapper.

Regards,
Romain

I have run it on three machines(9.0-RELEASE) and it has worked great.
But on one the package backup creation failed since the pdf90, pdf180,
pdf* were not present, but I selected (i) ignore.

Thanks for the fix(es). Two more machines to go, but on 8.3-RELEASE

Regards,

Antonio
