I recently visited Murrays Beach in Jervis Bay only to find that it
was not Clothes Optional AT ALL!
Am I goint to the wrong place?
I followed directions from the "Free Beach Action NSW" website.
Has anyone been there recently?
Please Advise

Hi Dazzle

Thank you for your comment. It shows how important feedback from
beachgoers really is. I remember Murrays Beach on the southern side of
Jervis Bay from the days when we travelled all over Australia with a
copy of "Bare Facts" in the glove box.

Things might have changed since then. From a day visit one cannot tell
anyway what the tradition with any of these "unofficial" free beaches
is, as there are no guarantees that there will never be clothed
bathers. All we can suggest is not to take their status for granted
and not to offend other people as they have every right to be there.

Our Free Beaches NSW Map is only as good as all of NSW naturists'
combined local knowledge. To keep this public resource as current as
possible send your updates to free...@gangart.com.

Thanks
Gerald

Hi Again

According to Ian from Wollongong, Murrays Beach was originally
unofficially nude, but after a major bushfire some years ago, Murrays
became very popular with textile bathers, and the naturists migrated
to the adjacent Hole in the Wall and Scottish Rocks. Good move,
because Ian thinks Scottish Rocks is a much nicer and more spacious
beach.

Scottish Rocks is so simple to get to. Take the Jervis Bay turnoff off
the Princes Highway, about ten kilometres south of South Nowra, and
just keep on going along Jervis Bay Road. Scottish Rocks is just past
Greenpatch and Bristol Point, and just before "Hole in the Wall",
another unofficial nude beach. If you come to Murray's Beach at the
end of Jervis Bay Road, you've gone too far.

Cheers
Gerald

Hi All

The updates from Dazzle and Ian for the Jervis Bay area are now also
reflected on our website.

Thanks again for your feedback.
