Still re-learning the HP42s environment - last used many years ago.
Have a DM42n but using Plus42 on my EDC Pixel 8 Pro to avoid carrying two bricks, leaving the DM42n for desk use.  Want to re-skin Plus42 to allow as many transferrable motor skills as possible.
Found the DM42 skin on the Free42 web site.  Also found the DM42 skin on github, apparently the original author.  DM42 skin on Free42 site shows Ver. 1.3, magnifications 4 8.  'Quick Installation on Mobile' on github provides Ver. 1.4, magnifications 12 24.  I did the github installation on my Pixel 8 Pro.  Any potential issues with the later version on this phone?

Also, the .gif of the DM42 skin on the Free42 web site shows upper and lower devices, one with more subdued keyboard text, separated by a white Annunciator bar. I'm not sure how to interpret this. Should I expect some sort of option selection for this skin?

It sounds like the later version simply offers higher resolution skin images, which would make the skin look a bit sharper on the phone than the skin from my web site. I don't see a downside!

Some skins, including this one, change the appearance of keys when they are pressed. You're probably not going to notice this on a phone since your finger will be covering the key you're pressing, but when using the app on a computer and pressing keys with the mouse, you will see some kind of visual feedback to indicate that the key is being pressed. It can be that the key moves a bit, or it may change color. The "subdued keyboard" in the DM42 skin contains the alternate key images that are used for the visual feedback. Similarly, the white annunciator bar contains the annunciators that are displayed, as needed, when a status annunciator is turned on.

What you'll actually see when using the skin is only the top part of the image.
