I'm sure it is a false positive, but just wanted to notify y'all.

I'm not sure how it helps anyone to amplify these recurrent false positives by Windows virus scanners...

It is good to know - why would these false positives be so common? And it was ONLY an observation, not an amplification. Others might find it reassuring that there is not an issue. This is the very, very first time I've seen this type of message (other than when expected) so I did raise an eyebrow. Perhaps a mute discussion forum is better than polite chatter?

If I knew why they kept happening, I'd do something to prevent them.

As it is, false positives keep happening, and then stopping with the very next antivirus definitions update. And this is happening with Microsoft defender and several other antivirus products. To the extent that there's news here, it's that antivirus creators are doing a crappy job. Or some of them are, anyway.

Anyway, I wasn't telling anyone to be quiet. If I thought the post was unacceptable, I'd have deleted it. I meant what I said literally.

Fair point, my apologies. I've been seeing a bunch of these messages, sometimes on my own development machine, more often reported to me by users. I confess to being quite annoyed that this keeps happening year after year, despite reporting those false positives to antivirus providers on multiple occasions, but of course none of that is the fault of the people who are actually getting these warnings and have every right to take them seriously.
