I use the DM42 Decoder to convert *.raw to *.txt files.
After upload, I find at the end of the DM42 Listing a little program and can not understand, from where it comes.
Is it not allowed to convert Pus42 / Free42 raw-files with the DM42 Decoder?
Following an example of a 13 step program.

00 { 41-Byte Prgm }
01▸LBL "CLCK"
02 FIX 04
03 TIME
04 CLK12
05 STO "TIME"
06 VIEW "TIME"
07 DATE
08 ENTER
09 100
10 ×
11 PSE
12 GTO "CLCK"
13 END

00 { 2-Byte Prgm }
01 NULL
02▸LBL 12
03 END

I'm not familiar with the DM42 Decoder. You'll have to report any problems with that tool to SwissMicros.

Have you tried converting the same *.raw file using the raw2txt tool from my website? If both give the same result, that would indicate that the problem is with the *.raw file itself, that is, it has gotten corrupted somehow.

Thank you Thomas. I think, my mistake was, to convert a *.raw file from the 'Plus42'.
Converting it from 'Free42', raw2txt.exe works properly.
(Later I have seen your remark on the 'Free42' page:
"These tools do not handle Plus42 instructions".)
Kind regards / Hans

Plus42 raw files should work with the DM42 Decoder or other HP-42S / Free42 raw file tools, as long as they don't contain any Plus42-specific instructions. The raw format is the same.

If a raw file contains Plus42-specific instructions, I don't know how the DM42 Decoder would respond to those. The Free42 version of raw2txt will render such instructions as XROM lines.

Thank you again. Additional question:
You offer the raw2txt and txt2raw converters on the 'Free42' and the 'Plus42' page. The file names are equal. If I compare the downloaded file sizes I find they are different. Does it mean, that the converters are not really identical?

They are different. The converters on the Free42 page handle only the HP-42S instruction set and the Free42 extensions, while the converters on the Plus42 page handle the HP-42S instruction set, the Free42 extensions, and the Plus42 extensions.

The instructions that Free42 and Plus42 have in common, that is, the HP-42S instruction set and the Free42 extensions, are encoded the same way in Free42 and Plus42, so HP-42S and Free42 programs will be converted exactly the same way by both versions of the conversion programs. You'll only notice a difference when you try to convert programs containing Plus42-specific instructions. (There's a list here.)
