Is there any jigsaw on the UK market with an optional radius arm
attachment to enable it to cut circles?
I've tried fabricating one to fit my Black & Decker GD56, but its very
difficult to get the geometry right.  The blade either tries to move
out from the desired circle or move in.  Anyone done it successfully ?

I needed to cut circular discs of around 300mm dia from 9mm ply sheet.
The Trend 'routabouts' are somewhat pricey and I don't know how big a
circle they can cut.
I've done the job now - guiding the jigsaw by hand - in a fraction of the
time I spent trying to make a jig!

I have a makita multi speed jig-saw and i only use a strip of aluminium bolted to the frame of the jig-saw, makita dosnt recognize it as one of their products nor will they now give me a warranty on any damage done by my attachment. The main use is to cut assorted sized circles for speaker units i affix to cars, and i must say it hasnt failed me yet. At first getting the idea down to a fine art, used upo about 2 days. Now i cut a neat circle, using the less stress. The attachment i can add is adjustable to many diameters.

So be game and make one. Mine is 3 mm x 35 cms x 10 mm, with a scribe affixed to the centre of any cirscle, and 2 4 mm holes, which covers 2 x 4 mm holes in the base of the jig-saw frame.

Hope this helps
