It's back - but not I think improved.

I never did like the audition stage before, and the new format
seems to make it even harder to get involved. Not actually hearing
half of the candidates who passed was part of the problem. Why
do they think we want to spend a lot of time listening to people
who cannot in fact sing?

Looking forward to this run - I think the new format is better and good to
hear what the audience reaction is to the audition acts. The triple trouble
lot were a scream, especially the judges reactions to the backchat and the
lad throwing the microphone on the satge hehe!

As to answer why they think veiwers spend a lot of time watching people who
cannot sing I think tat is indeed the crowd puller they get an awful lot of
viewers for the audition stage. he funniest parts I think is where you get
the ones who really believe they are good singers when they are all off tone
or just talking their way through the songs! - I would have to question are
some of them 'planted' by the producers to make the show entertaining?

- if its real how do they get past the first stages to get to the television
stage? and I have a bit of an issue with contestants with mental health
problems, some of them i have no doubt have something like autism or
something 'wrong' with them and these poor unfortunate people get the
courage to get up on stage and sing only for the judges to 'bully' them or
take the pee out of them - so I am sort of like laughing but at the same
time feel its uncomfortable viewing and that maybe the judges should maybe
tone down the jibes if they are commenting on some of the contestants who
appear to be coming across as having something wrong with them.

Andy.

So.... did you like the new style of audition, with baying crowds
and a hint of the coliseum about it? Perhaps the rejected acts
should be thrown to the lions.

Perhaps I am being a grouch about this, but honestly, it is a bit laboured
isn't it? They line them up and wheel them in, ho hum. On the other hand, the
surprise good ones, like the Essex girl with the baby, are fun to try to
spot before they sing.

I would say that if you go to one of the open auditions and actually
get through to the judges, you can probably assume you are there to
be ridiculed.

Nice to see that they operate a relationship counselling service on the side.
