I was wondering tonight just how many audiotns they do now that
they have a big audience too.
In the past you could just about imagine that they did an 8-hour
day (or thereabouts) listening to hopefuls and deciding who to put through.
But if they have a theatre and an audience I can't see them getting through
anything like the same number. So presumkably all they do now is
roll out the ones who will go through anyway, plus whichever of the
rubbish they find the most amusing. As a result of course, there is
almost no-one in the middle, splitting the judges on whether they should
go through or not.
Take Aimee - the one who sang Alicia Keys and was told she was not
quite good enough, and then sang Girls Aloud and was suddenly OK.
Now at the time I thought "she sound as good as the others you've put
through." Of course, when she didn't then get a sequence of noes from
the judges and a second chance, I realised that they were saying 'no'
just for the purpose of getting the second song.
Well - it makes for entertainment I suppose, but bring on the bootcamp.

Who's going to be first out then?
Kandy Rain have to be in with a good chance! :-)
And they duly oblige.
